Originally called "Metatags," hashtags have been around since the internet first took off in the 80s. The concept of tags was first used as an Internet Relay Chat that grouped messages and content together into categories to be filed.

Why are hashtags so important? 

Using hashtags on social media like Pinterest and Instagram, categorize posts neatly and let your audience come to you. Using the right hashtags will attract ideal followers to your brand, increasing your engagement and strengthening your brand image for the long run! Hashtags allow your potential audience to find YOUR brand. Hashtags allow you to connect social media content to a specific topic, event, topic, social movement, or conversation with which your service or product aligns best. And most importantly, it makes your posts seen in that conversation.

How do I know which hashtags are suitable for my brand?
